Air and sea
Two rulebooks, one team.
For air, the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations govern what can fly, in what quantity, and whether on passenger or cargo aircraft only. For sea, the IMDG Code sets out packing, stowage and the segregation of incompatible substances, and has been mandatory under the SOLAS Convention since 2004. Road legs on either side are handled with the same documentation.
- IATA DGR for airQuantity limits per package and cargo-aircraft-only restrictions applied at booking.
- IMDG Code for seaContainer packing certificate, stowage and segregation planned with the line.
- Trained staffIATA / DGR trained team on both the Navi Mumbai and Dubai desks.

Dangerous Goods Service FAQ
Before you book.
The questions we are asked most about this service. Anything else, ask our team.
Ask a questionWhich everyday products count as dangerous goods?
More than most shippers expect: perfumes and aerosols, paints and solvents, lithium batteries and the devices that contain them, dry ice, some cleaning chemicals and many laboratory reagents. If the product has a Safety Data Sheet, send it and we check.
Can lithium batteries be shipped by air?
Yes, within the IATA DGR rules, which set packing, labelling and quantity limits and restrict some shipments to cargo aircraft only. Tell us whether the batteries are shipped alone, packed with equipment or contained in equipment, and we confirm the accepted option.
What documents do I need?
The Safety Data Sheet, commercial invoice and packing list, plus the Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods for air or the Dangerous Goods Declaration and container packing certificate for sea, which we prepare.
Do you ship dangerous goods by sea as well as air?
Yes. Sea freight under the IMDG Code is often the practical route for larger quantities or goods restricted from air. We plan stowage and segregation with the shipping line.
