Ask a questionWhen should I use air freight?
When the cargo is time-critical, high in value relative to its weight, perishable, or needed to keep a production line or a project moving. For dense, low-value cargo, sea freight is usually the better choice.
How is air freight priced?
By chargeable weight, which is the higher of the actual weight and the volumetric weight (length × width × height in centimetres divided by 6000), multiplied by the rate per kilogram, plus surcharges and handling. The cost calculator works this out for you.
Can you ship dangerous goods by air?
Yes. Our team is IATA / DGR trained. Send the Safety Data Sheet with your enquiry and we confirm the accepted packing, labelling and the Shipper’s Declaration before booking.
What documents do I need?
Commercial invoice, packing list and the airway bill, which we issue. Dangerous goods need a Shipper’s Declaration; some commodities need a certificate of origin or product certification. We send a checklist with the booking.
